The WIMIUS T3 Video Projector. It is a compact and small home theatre projector with a considerably fair price tag. So what makes it stand out from the rest of the reasonable video projectors out there in the market?
First Impressions on the WIMIUS T3
The WIMIUS T3 looks like any other projector. It sports the standard rectangular projector shape, with projector lens upfront and control buttons and lens focus and angle knobs on top.
Normally, you would find media connectivity ports and slots such as VGA, HDMI, and USB on the back portion of a projector. We were surprised that the WIMIUS T3 have them on the sides. What’s more surprising is its power is located on the other side. So you will have cables sticking out from both sides, and honestly we’re not entirely head over heels with this unusual placement.
So what will you find at the back? You will see its speaker and oddly enough, the IR sensor for its remote control.
These are just our initial impressions of the device. We highly advise reading the rest of this review to find out more about this projector’s capabilities and features.
The Nitty-Gritty of the affordable WIMIUS T3
With a price below $80 (at the time of writing), the WIMIUS T3 video projector is definitely easy on the pocket. The question is will its bargain price ruin your Saturday movie night at home? Surprisingly, it won’t.
The T3 projector model from Shenzhen-based WIMIUS Tech Company uses the latest LCD projection technology to produce sharp, vivid, and precise color reproduction, and maximum contrast of 1000:1. Its LED light source can last up to 50000 hours, and consumes less energy.
We found that its native resolution of 800 x 480 can be truly appreciated in a dark room. This projector supports up to 1080P resolution. The brightness rating is only 1200 lumens.
There are four ways you can place position the projector – front, ceiling, rear and rear hanger. Underneath the projector you will find a slot for tripod stand. There’s no need to purchase separately because a tripod is included in the package.
If you want the largest screen size (100 inches), you need to position the projector about 3 meters away from the wall. For a smaller screen size, just move the projector closer to the output surface and adjust according to your preference. When the image is out of focus, all you have to do is move the focus knobs until the projected image is up to your standards.
The WIMIUS T3 Video Projector also comes with a keystone knob, which is incredibly handy if the projected output is not in its regular square shape. What happens if the trapezoidal shape is not eliminated? A quick adjust between the projector and screen center will do the trick.
You will also be surprised with this inexpensive projector’s plethora of connectivity options – five to be exact. Its available ports are audio output headphone, AV (video) input, HDMI, USB port, and VGA. What about memory cards? Unfortunately, it only accepts a TF card with up to 64 GB memory.
