Review: AAXA P1 JR Ultra Portable Pico Mini Projector
Looking for a seriously small projector? AAXA has just recently released a personal projector that is smaller than a HB pencil and even smaller than most smart phones on the market.
Despite it’s tiny form, the AAXA P1 Jr is a very capable mini projector boasting a full suite of features, read on for our full review.
Mini Projector Features
One thing that is great about mini projectors like the AAXA P1 Jr is the quick turn on and off times. There’s no sitting around waiting for the long warm up time. This mini projector features a powerful 10 ANSI Lumen White LED power source.
In a dark room you can expect to project a whopping 50 inch screen size (over 1.2m). As they say in their marketing you are literally putting a 50″ movie screen in your pocket.
It does feature one slight downside that is common amongst the smaller sized mini projectors and that is a limit to 4:3 ratio size which means you can’t get a true widescreen image without the cropping bars. But it’s hardly noticeable when viewing movies and presentations.
There is a wide range of support including MP4, MPG, 3GP, AVI, JPG, TXT and there is an onboard 0.5 watt speaker which is good enough for short or intimate presentations where you don’t need to project sound very far.
You can also connect this little device to your iPhone/iPad, Playstation portable, DVD players, and loads of other mobile devices via the composite A/V input. There’s also an SD card slot which you don’t normally find on mini projectors of this size.
The battery is rechargeable (expect to get 1-2 hours life from a charge) and the bulb will never need to be replaced.
Using This Mini Projector
We recommend using this projector in intimate business scenarios for small presentations on the go, or for hooking up with your mobile devices so you can truly have a portable sales tool.
It is also great for watching TV episodes so you don’t get sore eyes watching a tiny screen for hours.
All in all it’s a very full featured projector in a tiny little package, a good example of where the industry is going. The one thing we wished for was a longer battery life.

Where to buy
I recommend checking out Amazon, you can usually get a good deal on shipping and pick up any accessories you need all in the one shop. Surprisingly this projector debuted at way lower cost than I expected. Click through to check out the current price, it’s much less than others with similar feature sets.
